The website is being developed for employees of the Jamaica Bus Depot. It will be a source of information, as well as assistance. For example: If an employee is hurt on or off the job and is in need of procedural guidelines, he or she can visit the site and quickly find the pertinent information assisting them in proper procedures. If an emergency announcement needs to get out regarding inclement weather, strike information, meetings, etc., all one has to do is go to the site and retrieve the information. This can be done anytime of the day -- from anywhere there is Internet access -- at home, while on leave or vacation, from PDAs, cellphones, etc. The site will also provide a frequently asked question section (FAQ), which will enable the Board to devote more of its time to, perhaps, working the bigger issues, as opposed to the less bigger ones.
