-- NextFest Field Trip and Mini-Site --
NextFest Field Trip: September 29, 30, 31, 2006 at the Javits Center
- Get your free ticket by sending an email to 10 friends (see site for details)
- I will be at the NextFest Conference on Friday September 29th 12pm - 3pm. I will meet students from 12-12:20pm at the left side of the main entrance. After that time, please find me wandering about.
NextFest Mini-Site Project: Due October 10, 2006
- Choose one invention that you found the most impressive and/or inspiring.
- Invent at least two ways you would use this invention if you had it with you in your home, office/studio or school.
- Create a 2 (or more) page site explaining your invention of choice and the ways you would use this invention if it was available to you.
- Your audience: people who have never seen anything like this before.
- Things to keep in mind:
- Information Architecture: provide a simple, logical structure and experience for the site's users. Draw a site map and/or information listing.
- Page Structure: Create a consistent and logical hierarchy of importance using meaningful HTML tags.
- Navigation: Create clear, consistent and reliable navigation. Include an external link to the Nextfest website.
- Home Page: Your first page should be named index.html
- Web Standards: Validate your site using validator.w3.org.
- Spelling and Grammar: Double check!
- Upload to FTP: Create a new folder inside your root directory called nextfest. Put all your files inside this folder and upload to the FTP server.
- NOTE: You may add images to your content, but do not add presentation elements (font, color, patterns, etc.)
Late projects will not be accepted. Your site should be finished and uploaded to the FTP server. Please UPLOAD BEFORE YOU COME TO CLASS (instructions).
The Rubric that will be used to grade your project has been defined. Please read it before turning in your project.
