COURSE CALENDAR | WEEK 15 CLASS OUTLINE | Homework

Topics Covered in Class:

  1. SURVEY: Please take this anonymous course survey-- it's different from the one given by the college. I value your ideas and respect your input. I will use your ideas and comments it to improve the class next semester.
  2. Final Project Critique
    1. Pitch your proposed animated short to the class. In order to present the proposed short with confidence and conviction, you must truly believe in the story and the characters you are presenting. Keep your audience interested. Excuses of any kind, such as "We didn't have enough time" or "We wanted it to look like this, but we didn't know how", will not be tolerated.
    2. The class will respond with constructive suggestions for improvement.*
    3. Present the following in this order:
      1. Elevator Pitch
      2. Animation Bible
      3. Digital Storyboard and Animatic
      4. Animated Sequence

    * Any student observed working on their own project, checking email, surfing or texting during the critique will sacrifice their final project grade-- not just their own, but their entire group's.

  3. Final Project DUE!
    1. Turn in all files to the ADGA server
      • Put all files in a folder with your first initial, last name and the project title (example: jsmith_storyboard, jsmith_bible, jsmith_animatic, etc.)
      • Drop the folder in the ad3540_DropBox > Final_Project on the ADGA server (10.10.110.16)
      • Folders containing loose, unmarked, temporary, or unfinished files will not be accepted.
      • Each student in the group should have the same files and folders.
    2. Create a backup on CD to turn in.
    3. GRADING:

      • Grades for late projects will drop by half.
      • Animations and supporting materials will be graded based on the concepts and techniques covered during the entire course.
      • The Rubric that will be used to grade your project has been defined. Please read it before turning in your project
